MorphoEvoDevo: A happy threesome?

A multilevel approach to understand the evolution of animal diversity

September 10-11, 2018 | University of Greifswald, Germany

The "Fachgruppe Morphologie" is happy to announce a satellite meeting on integrating data from EvoDevo and morphology in order to discuss the evolution of metazoan diversity. All confirmed keynote speakers are renowned experts in these fields, but use different, conceptual strategies to tackle down evolutionary questions. This satellite aims to bring together young ambitious researchers as well as advanced established scientists which share a passion for ancestor and character reconstruction. The combination of contributing participants will set a basis for lively and vibrant panel discussions and might eventually lead into a sound understanding of the evolution of animal phenotypes.

Keynote Speakers:

Andreas Hejnol, Sars Center, University of Bergen, Norway
Thomas G. Stach, Humboldt University Berlin, Germany
Andreas Wanninger, University of Vienna, Vienna, Austria
Special guest: Jakob Vinther, University of Bristol, Bristol, UK

Deadline for Abstract Submission: June 17, 2018

Venue:

Department of Cytology and Evolutionary Biology, Seminar Room, Soldmannstr. 23

Fees:

Early Bird (April 1 to July 15, 2018): € 20 (Regular Participants), € 15 (Students)
Late (July 16 to September 10, 2018): € 40 (Regular Participants), € 30 (Students)

This meeting is a Satellite Symposium of the 111th Annual Meeting of the German Zoological Society (DZG) and the "Fachgruppe Morphologie" of the DZG.
