Norbert Sachser was Head of the Department of Behavioural Biology at the University of Münster for 25 years. Recognised as a pioneer of behavioural biology in Germany, his research focuses on animal welfare, the development and evolution of social behaviour, and the biology of individuality. His bestselling popular science book, 'Der Mensch im Tier' (engl.: 'Much Like Us'), has been translated into English, Russian, Chinese, and other languages. His most recent work, 'Tierwelt am Limit' (engl.: Wildlife at the Brink), co-authored with Niklas Kästner, explores the astonishing adaptation strategies of wild and domestic animals.
