The Annual Meeting 2026 will take place in the Fürstenberghaus in the heart of Münster’s historic city centre.

Surrounded by the cathedral, museums and vibrant public spaces, the location combines an academic atmosphere with the lively character of the city. Restaurants, cafés and major sights are all within walking distance, making the venue an ideal starting point for both conference activities and exploring Münster.

All floors are accessible barrier-free via a lift.
An accessible toilet is located on the ground floor in the foyer.
A baby changing table is available in the accessible toilet.

The conference party takes place at B-Side, a self-organised cultural venue in a former industrial hall on Münster's harbour. On Thursday evening from 8 pm, live band Astrea All Stars (@astreawelt) opens with salsa, cumbia and Caribbean rhythms, before DJ At aka Atwashere (Trust in Wax, @trustinwax) takes over the decks, spinning Funk, Rap, Dope Beats and Drum'n'Bass on real vinyl. Free entry — open to everyone from the conference, the Münster Biology department, and friends.

A disabled parking space is available directly at the street-side entrance; additional paid parking at Halle Münsterland.

Accessibility
B-Side is currently not fully barrier-free. An elevator to the upper floor operates during café hours and public events, a second elevator in the foyer serves the roof level, and a ramp provides access to the ground-floor workshop spaces. Accessible unisex toilets are available on the ground and first floor. Automatic door openers are planned but not yet installed.

The conference dinner will take place at Allwetterzoo Münster on Wednesday, 9 September 2026.

The Meranti Hall, the zoo’s tropical house, provides the perfect ambience for the conference dinner, with anteaters, giant otters and other animals right on your doorstep.
