Monday:

Free Tour for DZG-Meeting Participants at the LWL Naturkunde Museum (https://www.lwl-naturkundemuseum-muenster.de/de/) – Starts at 11:00. You can just show up and mention that you are part of the DZG Meeting 2026 in Münster. Jean-Luc Mathieu from the Orga-Team will be waiting for you at the entrance.

Tuesday

Evening is off to enjoy the nightlife and your fellow DZG participants in Münster (https://www.stadt-muenster.de/tourismus/einkaufen-ausgehen/ausgehen). (see personal recommendations below)

Wednesday

Wochenmarkt at the Domplatz, just adjacent to the venue (8:00-14:30)  – perfect place to pick fresh fruit or a quick bite at the food trucks for lunch.

Conference Dinner at the Zoo (https://www.allwetterzoo.de)

• DZG Meeting Participants have also free entry into the Zoo for the whole day!

• We have chartered a bus to bring you from the conference venue to the Zoo and back after the meeting. However, you could also walk from the city along the Aasee – app. 45-60 minutes from the conference venue.
• We will have a Cocktail-Bar (one Mock- or Cocktail per person will be on the house).

Thursday

Farewell Party at the B-Side (Münster harbour, yes, Münster has a harbour; https://b-side.ms ) with music and free entrance for DZG Meeting participants.

DZG Conference Party 2026 – Thursday starting at 8pm – free entrance with you badge!

On Thursday evening, trade the lecture hall for the B-side (https://b-side.ms) by the harbour in Münster! From 8 pm, live band Astrea All Stars kicks things off with salsa, cumbia and Caribbean rhythms, before DJ At aka Atwashere (Trust in Wax) takes over the decks for the rest of the night, spinning Funk, Rap, Dope Beats and Drum'n'Bass — real vinyl only. Free entry — bring your colleagues along, and maybe let your professor buy you a drink while you're at it!

Friday

Birding Tour to the Rieselfelder (https://rieselfelder-muenster.de). You can sign up at the registration desk. Currently, we can bring 18 people, but if we have more signed up we will come up with a solution. (Guides: Jürgen Gadau; Bettina Zeis)

• Beetschwester – vegan bowls/bagels in one store (https://www.beetschwester.de/startseite/) (5 min walk)
• Wochenmarkt (Sa/We – fresh fruits, and lots of small foodtrucks – Marketplace in front of the cathedral (0 min walk)
• Bavarian Beer Garden – next to the Aasee (https://www.spatzl-wirtshaus.de ) (5 min walk)

Ralf:

• Pinkus Müller (Microbrewery and traditional food)
• Namaste (Bremer Platz): great Indian food, probably the best in Münster
• Hafen area:  nice restaurants and bars by the water. Also, the Finne Brewery (incl. Pub) and the Hafenkäserei are located there
• For Bike tours just outside Münster:
  • Pleistermühle (Restaurant, Beergarden, Minigolf, and Canoe hire at Werse River.  Great for walks and bike rides along the river.)

Nils:

• Cuchara → very nice place for vegan and non-vegan rice bowls! 5 Min walk from Münster's castle (https://www.cucharacurry.de/)
• Rieselfelder → Nature reserve where one can find lots of cool birds and diverse nature; a bit on the edge of MS, but worth the ride :) (https://rieselfelder-muenster.de/)
• Herr Sonnenschein → nice coffee place that serves drinks, cake and breakfast; comfy atmosphere and great service :D
